How to Strike, Reduce and Encase Double Helix Glass all on one bead!
I had some people asking how to take Double Helix Glass to the next level by encasing it. What a perfect direction to go!
I wanted to point out that I used Double Helix Terra Nova 2 & NYX on different background colors…black, red, & transparent purple in the above beads.
The silver colors will react differently on different colors. You probably could spend a lifetime experimenting! :)
In this video below, I’ll be demoing how to use striking and reducing Double Helix glass on the same bead. And we’ll be encasing both kinds of silver glasses, too. That should cover 4 different techniques and how to mingle the different Double Helix glass together on one bead.
Now… it’s up to you to think of ways to use these silver glass techniques to personalize them to your unique visions!
Interesting how the NYX turned greenish on the copper green in the demo bead.
Ideas how to use Double Helix glass
Just a little artistic inspiration to get you thinking outside the box… I do abstract paintings, so I played with using the silver glasses to create some miniature abstract paintings.
I would like to frame them one day and expand on the idea. (On my list of things to do! Don’t you love Double Helix glass?)
You can use any of the brands of silver glasses, I just happen to use Double Helix glass because I have certain ones I love. Possibly I’m in a rut….but I’m enjoying it!

Now on a different note….
I wanted to point out a characteristic about my video demos that you may have not noticed.
I’m not teaching you step by step, “follow the numbers” tutorials. What I am teaching you are foundational techniques…fundamental knowledge or tools that you can put into your tool box to use as you create your glass art forms. For example… how to use silver glass, in particular, Double Helix glass.
But you have the responsibility of being an artist and discovering your visions, your path with these glasses! (If you have my first 3 tutorials…go back and read them…I put lots of help in that area) :)

So back to Double Helix glass and the demo… Got any questions?
What’s your favorite Double Helix glass.?..or other brands or colors you use that you like???
Patsy :)
