Lots going on here… a NEW Hydrangea tutorial in the works, a painting exhibition & a beginner’s lampwork class!

Christmas came and went in a blur here.

Within the hustle and bustle of the Christmas and New Year’s season, I managed to have a wonderful sale of my 3 first tutorials.

I also finished Christmas lampwork beads orders, bake 15 loaves of Christmas breads, (Cranberry Nut, Persimmon and Banana Nut)…Yummy!, visited my husband’s family for Christmas, cooked Christmas dinner back at home…AND…

Rockport Texas Art Center

rockport art centerI did a lampwork demo in Rockport,Texas, for my upcoming Beginner’s Lampworking Workshop. I’ll be teaching 4 students in March. Rockport has the 11th largest artist colony in the US. It is a small, relaxing coastal resort town known for it’s fishing, beach activities and art community.

My Art Exhibit in Hallettsville

Patsy Evins Painting & Lampwork Bead ShowI also had an Artist opening at the Cultural Center in Hallettsville for my paintings and glass art during the holidays.

And I even managed to get sick for 2 weeks! :(

Sadly, I was not able to blog since November, I did very little on FaceBook and I failed miserably at staying connected with all the wonderful lampworkers on Lampwork Etc. I also didn’t get around to sending out my Christmas cards to old friends from places we lived in the past, my house is a wreck and we’ve been eating way too much leftovers.

My Earth Shattering Conclusion…

I’ve come to the conclusion that it is impossible to do it all, especially as technology advances while I sleep! The best I can do is stay focused at chipping away at my dreams.

Newest Lampwork Bead Tutorial-Hydrangeas

I forgot to mention that I’ve also been working on my NEW Hydrangea tutorial! I’ve been creating Hydrangea beads for my new tutorial these last couple of weeks and last week I edited and photoshopped 2300 photos my son took of me making these flower beads. That took 6 days! Now, I’m starting to write the tutorial and, as usually, there’s way too much I want to put into the tutorial to share with you about hydrangeas. I’m really relying on you knowing all the information in the first 3 tutorials and I hope you have practiced making the beads. :)

The new Hydrangea flower tutorial is a continuation of the techniques I taught you in these previous tutorials. I am jumping right into making the hydrangea beads to get more new information covered, and skipping steps I taught you in the previous tutorials.

I’m hoping this Tutorial gets you excited about the New Year and ignore the dreary, depressing winter blues that usually creeps over us this time of year. We’ve got great things to discover about hydrangeas and what a perfect time to enjoy being inside!

I’ll be sharing more hydrangeas that I will be teaching in this tut, soon. I hope to have the tutorial finished in a few weeks, so be practicing the first tutorials to be ready to jump into Hydrangeas!
